Yuraygir goanna (ii)

Yuraygir goanna (ii)

From the "I am the landscape" series featuring Australian native fauna in situ, this is one of the lace monitors I encountered at Minnie Water in the Yuraygir National Park.  There is something a little frightening about these enormous reptiles, of which I saw several, including two who faced off in a territorial stoush just next to the camp site. They are inquisitive and beautiful.

A two plate aluminium etching using sugar lift and open bite etching.

Varied edition - each print is different.

This imprint received an Award for Excellence in the Wildlife Art Museum of Australia (WAMA) 2023 Environmental works on paper prize.

View at New England Contemporary Print Gallery in Armidale.
