Yuraygir goanna (ii) First state
From the "I am the landscape" series featuring Australian native fauna in situ, this is one of the lace monitors I encountered at Minnie Water in the Yuraygir National Park. There is something a little frightening about these enormous reptiles, of which I saw several, including two who faced off in a territorial stoush just next to the camp site. They are inquisitive and beautiful.
A two plate aluminium etching using sugar lift and open bite etching.
This is a first state and unique print, meaning there is only one exactly like this. I have since changed the yellow plate, so any further prints will differ. ON SHOW NOW at New England Contemporary Print Gallery in Divine Creatures.
