Thorn
Thorn is a multi plate aluminium etching, with each colour printed from a separate plate. Part of the Uncivilised Garden series featuring wooden cage dolls (of the kind used in Medieval religious ceremonies) as living, sentient beings and seen here as a symbol of hope and defiance.
This edition has been printed by master printmaker Bill Young from Lizzie's plates.
8/8 of this edition was short-listed for the 2020 Swan Hill print & drawing prize.
It was also selected for the Inkmasters Print Exhibition 2021 in Cairns.
